Meet Melissa Bosco

Enjoy our weekly series to meet our founding members who are an amazing source of encouragement and support to try new adventures in business and in life.

Day Job: Senior Manager at the Global Consulting firm Protiviti.  I specialize in Internal Audit, Business Process Improvement, and Enterprise Risk Management.

Local Market:  Metro D.C. area (Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C.), New Jersey, and New York

Favorite Leisure Activity:  Traveling – I enjoy mixing my vacations with adventure and relaxation, whether its mental relaxation hiking or swimming, or physical relaxation laying on the beach or sitting in a vineyard drinking wine.  Either way, being away from my home area helps (really forces) me to actually take a break from the craziness.

Best Benefit of Golf?  Being outside to spend time with friends and to strengthen networks.  I feel like golf is one of few social activities done for pleasure and business that lasts a minimum of 3-4 hours!

Guilty Pleasure: Watching television shows, I get hooked on pretty much everything.

Lastest Accomplishment: I had a personal and work accomplishment just recently, getting engaged and gaining a high visibility role at my firm.  Both are causing life changing, exciting, but very time consuming downstream effects.

Next Challenge: Getting married and determining my life plan – I work very much and am hoping for a true work-life balance someday soon, but the hard work is paying off so it is difficult to pull away.  I am hoping that after I am married I will have a partner in crime that can help me see more clarity on what I want the rest of my life to look like, as a person REALLY can’t do everything (there is only 24 hours in the day…).

Biggest Regret: Giving up on a political career.  I always was interested in economic policy and, growing up in the D.C. area, constantly heard political buzz at the dinner table or when out meeting people.  But as I went through college and started learning of the corruption and difficulties in being successful in that career while being honest, I switched to business economics/analytics instead.

Wine On Hand: This time of year would definitely be a cool, crisp Sauvignon Blanc – one of my favorites is WOW Oui from Imagery Vineyards in Napa Valley

Bucket List Travel Destination? Scuba Diving in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef

Favorite Book? Tie of historcal and today’s classics – Gone with the Wind and Harry Potter (Prisoner of Azkaban, when my favorite character was introduced)

Who would you like spend an hour with at the 19th hole?  Michael Jackson, the most talented, kind-hearted, and misunderstood man
